Motivation, Metacognition, and Learning (MML) Laboratory
In the Motivation, Metacognition, and Learning (MML) Laboratory, we investigate various motivational and cognitive factors that play a role in how students regulate their own learning, including academic mindsets, promotion and prevention orientations, achievement goals, perceptions of effort source, and judgments of ability. In doing so, we draw on theories and methods from numerous areas of psychology, including educational, developmental, social, and cognitive psychology, and conduct studies with multiple populations, including college students, elementary school students, parents, and teachers.
